Justin Cockrell 2026 Weddle Sweet 16 Champ
Laughlin, NV—Mother Nature served up beautiful spring temps in Laughlin over the April 18-19 weekend for Battleground Laughlin, co-hosted by MORE and Legacy Racing. Included at Battleground, the TJ Craig Memorial Weddle Sweet 16 Shootout was moved up in the Weddle Shootout Series calendar. This year's changes were not enough to knock Justin Cockrell off his Weddle Sweet 16 game.

Justin Cockrell 2026 Weddle Sweet 16 Champ. Look back at the history of the TJ Craig Memorial Weddle Sweet 16 Shootout and you would be hard-pressed to find a podium without Justin Cockrell. Back on the top spot after his 2024 title, Cockrell took his third Weddle Sweet 16 crown piloting Weddle-equipped 1623, with 1671 Mario Alcala Jr. in second and 1635 Alec Rodriguez placing third.
Two more wins for Weddle-equipped teams. Along with Cockrell's Class 1600 win, two additional Weddle-equipped teams found the top of the podium. In Class 9, 959 Brad Barnes finished first with Tim Sletten in second driving Weddle-equipped 963. In Class 11, 1144 Oliver Flemate snagged the win.
Huge thanks to the MORE team and the Legacy Racing team for putting on a top notch race. The next event on Weddle Shootout Series calendar is the Weddle SWINGER'S BALL, a special event for Class 9 racers run in conjunction with the MORE Freedom Cup at Glen Helen Raceway, July 11-12. See you there!
